How to add files to a microsite

I recommend having at least two tabs open, the first being the microsite resource page in question and the second being a page you want to add this file on.

  1. First, upload files here: https://www.sog.unc.edu/file/add
    1. Click on the "choose file" button.
    2. Now click the "upload" button.
    3. Click the "Next" button.
    4. Click the "Save" button.
  2. Now, depending on what you uploaded, get the URL of the file by doing the following.
    1. If it's a PDF, click on the link. It should open in a new window. Copy that url and move on to the steps below; be sure to keep this open just in case.
    2. If its an image, right click on the image and select "copy image address." Now move on to the steps below; be sure to keep this open just in case.
    3. If it's a word doc, copy the current page(s) web address and move on to the steps below; be sure to keep this open just in case.

Repeat the steps above as many times as needed.

  1. Go to your microsite (for example this page): https://www.sog.unc.edu/resources/microsites/mental-health/online-lme-board-training-resources-0
  2. Click the "edit" button at the top of the page. Now in the body field is where you will make your links.
  3. Type what you want the link text to display as somewhere in the body of the page. I.E. Click Here.
  4. Now highlight the link text that you just wrote and click the link (chain icon) button.
  5. A small popup should appear.
    1. In the "link url" field, paste the link that you had copied before from the file upload tab. You should still have that tab open in case you need to copy it again.
    2. In the "target" field, click on the dropdown and select "Open link in new window."
    3. Now click the "Update/ Save" button.

Repeat steps 3-5 in the process as many times as needed. Once that is complete, please scroll all the way down on the page and click the "save" button to save the page.

Please let us know if you need any of us in the applications team to go over this in another method as well.
